PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element capable of being expected to exhibit good light emitting characteristics by appropriately arranging a functional material on a substrate, and a method for manufacturing the organic EL element.SOLUTION: An anode 2 is formed from a transparent conductive material on a substrate 1, and a reflection film 3 is formed on the anode 2. A bank 5 is formed while securing an opening 101 having a sloped part 5c on the reflection film 3. UV light is applied from above the substrate 1, and a liquid repellent component on a bank surface is removed by both UV incident light and reflected light from the reflection film 3, at the sloped part 5c. Thus, contact properties between an ink containing a functional material and the sloped part 5c of the bank is improved, so that the generation of an unformed region of a functional layer is prevented. |
