SUPPORT STRUCTURE AND METHOD FOR MAINTAINING A LAMP IN HORIZONTAL ALIGNMENT WITH A SOCKET

Support structure configured to engage both a lamp and adjacent structure, after the lamp has been installed horizontally in a socket, and maintains the lamp in horizontal alignment with regard to the socket. The lamp is installed in the socket, at least one adjustable length pin of the support structure is adjusted to a desired length, and the support structure is engaged with the lamp. If the lamp was installed in a ceiling, a lens or cover is also installed. Regardless, the support structure engages an adjacent surface (such as the ceiling lens or cover, or a surface in the recess of a wall), thereby maintaining the lamp in horizontal alignment with regard to the socket.

A support structure configured to engage a lamp, contact an adjacent surface, and maintain the lamp in horizontal alignment with regard to a socket in which the lamp is engaged, said support structure comprising: at least one lamp-engaging member configured to engage the lamp; and at least one adjustable-length pin which is configured to contact the adjacent surface and maintain the lamp in horizontal alignment with regard to the socket.
