<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handheld electronic device and an associated method enabling the phonetic text input in a text disambiguation environment and the output of an improved lookup window. <P>SOLUTION: This method for enabling input on a handheld electronic device includes: detecting ambiguous text input including the plurality of operations of a plurality of input members; creating a character string of language objects corresponding to at least an initial section of ambiguous input; outputting one of the language objects of the character string of the language objects and at least one variant language object as one alternate of the language objects; and outputting character interpretation including many words. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
