<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and method for wound therapy that is capable of treating a variety of chronic and acute wound types. <P>SOLUTION: The wound therapy device includes: a wound cover for covering at least a portion of a wound; a vacuum source in fluid communication with the wound cover; a liquid retaining structure positioned under the wound cover, wherein the liquid retaining structure is configured to collect and retain substantially all wound liquid/exudate entering the inside of the liquid retaining structure while simultaneously communicating negative pressure generated by the vacuum source to the wound; and a liquid barrier to substantially prevent liquid from leaving the liquid retaining structure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
