A system and method for processing the submission of referrals and applications for life, disability, and critical illness insurance via a secure web-based application, which comprises the manual entering of a referral's name into the application database, or the selection of an individual from an existing corporate database. The entered referral data is stored, and data from the existing corporate database is used so that certain fields are automatically populated on the Application Data Entry form, allowing for the possible creation of multiple insurance company applications with the submission of only one Insurance Application Data Entry form. This is an automated process, whereby submitted referrals and insurance applications are monitored via a tracking system that updates the status of each application and referral as they go through the various verification stages while pending approval.
