PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device in which the separation of a plasma display panel (PDP) and a chassis member is easily and rapidly performed for the purpose of resource recovery of the plasma display device, and also to provide a method for disassembling the same. SOLUTION: The plasma display device which is equipped with the PDP 3 provided with a plurality of discharge cells between a front plate and a back plate, the metallic chassis member 5, a thermally expanding heat conduction sheet 6 arranged between the PDP 3 and the chassis member 5, and an air layer 7 at least either between the heat conduction sheet 6 and the PDP 3 or between the heat conduction sheet 6 and the chassis member 5. The separation of the PDP 3 and the chassis member 5 is easily and rapidly performed without breaking the glass of the PDP 3 since the area that the heat conduction sheet 6 of the surface provided with the air layer 7 comes into contact is 40 to 95% of the area of the PDP 3.
