<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multilobe foil gas bearing capable of rotating with high precision by using a stable fluid lubricating film without being influenced by a rotation position and a drive system of a journal in starting. <P>SOLUTION: In a plane view from the shaft end of a journal 2, respective top points 41a of one foil 41 out of two pieces of foil 41, 42 are arranged by varying a phase in a circumferential direction so as to be positioned on the circular surface 42b of the other foil 42. Thereby, a part with low rigidity and a part with high rigidity of the multilobe foil gas bearing 1 compensate from each other, and a part with locally low bearing rigidity is eliminated to reduce a phenomenon such as the movement or collapse of the journal 2 at starting, and the fluid lubricating film over the entire surface of the journal 2 can maintain the stable and highly precise rotation of the journal 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
