PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety chair which can prevent an accident which otherwise may occur with the backward movement of the sitting part in its use. SOLUTION: A chair 3 installed behind each of desks 2 comprises a base 13 fixed on a floor surface 14, a vertical leg support 12 being rotatably pivoted by the base 13 longitudinally and a sitting plate 11 mounted on the leg support 12. The chair 3 is housed below the top board 5 with the forward rotation of the leg support 12, a waist support part 11a with its tip upward is formed at the rear end part of the sitting plate 11 and the tip part 11b is located below the top board 11 with the chair housed while approaching the front below the top board 5 of another desk 2 disposed behind the chair 3 in the use of the chair 3 with the leg support 12 turned backward.
