METHOD FOR TREATING INTESTINAL COLIC DUE TO LACTASE INSUFFICIENCY IN INFANTS

A method for treating intestinal colic due to lactase insufficiency in the infants comprises reducing the lactose content in ration up to complete removal of lactose. Since the first day of the treatment, Mammalac is provided at a dose of 1000 U of lactase (one third of the capsule) per 100 mL of the milk. On each feeding, Mammalac is added to 10-15 mL of the expressed breast milk for 5-10 minutes for fermentation prior to feeding it to the infant; the duration of the course is 7-10 days.
