<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hair growing tonic that excels in hair growth and restoration efficacy and has safety ensuring satisfactory availability for long-term use, being capable of promoting the hair growth and restoration of mammals; a hair growing tonic composition containing the hair growing tonic; and a method of hair growth and restoration. <P>SOLUTION: Promoting of hair growth and restoration can be attained by inhibiting any apoptosis induction developed by the action of male hormone on a mammal at least at a region where hair growth and restoration are intended. In particular, a hair growing tonic comprising, as an active ingredient, an inhibitor of apoptosis induction promoting protein is used.
