<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable scanner device capable of reducing any burden on a user, and a program. <P>SOLUTION: A portable scanner equipped with an inclination information acquisition part 13 for acquiring inclination information and a scanner part 15 is configured to acquire the inclination of the portable scanner device from the inclination information acquisition part 13, and to operate the tip end 22 of the portable scanner device on the basis of the acquired inclination information. Specifically, the tip end 22 of the portable scanner device is controlled to operate horizontally to a ground surface regardless of the inclination of a body 23.
