<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner having excellent electrification characteristics with long-term stability, and an efficient method for manufacturing the toner. <P>SOLUTION: A toner is obtained by washing a dispersion slurry obtained from a dispersion liquid or emulsion of an oil-phase aqueous medium containing a toner material. The dispersion liquid or emulsion of the aqueous medium contains a cellulose dispersion stabilizer.
