<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna device and a portable telephone which achieve space saving and ensure good matching state. <P>SOLUTION: A antenna device has a substrate metal 2. A slot 3 is provided at the substrate metal 2 so as to have an opening 31 near an end part of the substrate metal 2 and a bending shape. Further, an island part 21 is formed by providing a cutout in either of two regions of the substrate metal 2 on both sides of the slot 3 and has a bending belt shape.
