An image device for recognizing a channel pattern of a user and a control method therefor are provided to automatically perform channel tuning although a user does not repeat a channel change again by storing all of channel changes although the user simply changes the channels without reserving complex channel tuning. An input unit(102) allows a user to input a signal about the start and end of a macro setup function and signals about a channel change. A storing unit(104) stores the signals about the channel change inputted while the signal about the start and end of the macro setup function is inputted together with a time when the signal about the channel change is inputted. When a signal about a macro execution function is inputted through the input unit(102), if the time stored in the storing unit(104) arrives, the control unit(103) tunes a current channel to a changed channel.
