The objective of the invention is to facilitate storing, at an appropriate frequency, images having desirable compositions during operation of automatically storing images. A threshold value condition used for determination as to the execution of automatic image storages is established. Then, a degree of correspondence to a composition is obtained for each of some or all of frames consecutively appearing on the time axis as image data. If the composition of a frame satisfies the established threshold value condition, the image data corresponding to that frame is determined as image data to be stored. |
