<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of preparing cathode active material for a lithium ion secondary battery in which decreasing of discharge capacity is less at charge/discharge cycle while decrease in capacity is less even at a high discharge speed. <P>SOLUTION: The method of preparing cathode active material for lithium ion secondary battery includes a coprecipitation process in which a water solution containing nickel compound is mixed with a water solution containing silicon compound, and in a mixture liquid that is obtained, the nickel compound is reacted with the silicon compound to provide a coprecipitate that contains nickel and silicon, a first baking process in which the coprecipitate that is obtained is baked at 350-500°C, a lithium mixing process in which the baked substance obtained by the first baking process is mixed with lithium material containing lithium equivalent to total mol number 1-1.2 times the mol number of nickel contained in the baked substance and the mol number 3-6 times the mol number of silicon contained in the baked substance, and a second baking process in which the mixture of the baked substance and lithium material is baked at 600-700°C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
