PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of suppressing deterioration in the reception quality due to antenna switching. SOLUTION: A CPU 15 periodically acquires a synchronization establishing state from a tuner section 14, when the synchronization is not established, the CPU 15 allows an antenna switching section 13 to switch antennas, compares the electric field strength at a point of time after a designated time with the electric field strength before the antenna switching, when the electric field strength at that point of time is stronger than the electric field strength before the antenna switching, the CPU 15 continues the state after the switching, and when the electric field strength at that point is weaker than the electric field strength before the antenna switching, the CPU 15 selects the antenna before the switching.
