PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously supply toner to a part where a toner carrier is in contact with a cleaning member which removes toner on a toner carrier, stabilize the load of friction between the toner carrier and the cleaning member, and surely prevent stripping of a cleaning member, by disposing a toner accumulating member, which accumulates toner on the toner carrier, upstream of the cleaning member in a conveying direction. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes: the toner carrier that carries a toner image or conveys a medium with a toner image transferred thereto; the cleaning member in contact with the toner carrier and to remove toner on the toner carrier; and the toner accumulating member disposed upstream of the cleaning member in the conveying direction and in contact with the toner carrier.
