<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein when an intermediate transfer belt flexes on a travel track, a paper sheet is rubbed in front of a transfer roller and a toner image is scattered over the form and the image is collapsed. <P>SOLUTION: In the image forming apparatus, a before-transfer guide 50 is installed immediately in front of a transfer nip formed by an intermediate transfer guide 12 and a transfer roller 18b. The pre-transfer guide 50 extends along the width of a paper sheet conveyance path, and projections 50b are formed at both ends thereof outside a region where a paper sheet is conveyed. The intermediate transfer belt 12 is driven, while becoming tensed to some extent, so the paper sheet possibly flexes on the travel track along the thickness, but is held at a fixed distance to the intermediate transfer belt 12 by the projections 50b in an area immediately in front of the transfer nip. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
