MOUNTING SYSTEM FOR STRUCTURAL MEMBER, FASTENING ASSEMBLY THEREOF, AND VIBRATION ISOLATION SYSTEM INCLUDING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening assembly for a structural member and a vibration isolation system including the assembly.

SOLUTION: The fastening assembly 10 for a mounting bracket includes a spherical rod end 20 having a spherical member 40 with a through opening 44 and an integrally threaded shaft 42. The fastening assembly has first and second seating members 16 and 18 on opposite sides of the spherical member, each having a through opening 32 substantially coaxial with the through opening 44 of the spherical member 40. The fastening assembly has a partially threaded fastener 22 that makes threaded engagement with an angle mounting bracket forming the mounting assembly. A structural member has axial end parts, each releasably coupled to the mounting bracket by the integrally threaded shaft. Axial end parts are threaded in opposite directions for permitting the structural member to rotate, whereby a length thereof can be adjusted to a substantially zero strain position. The structural member may be a vibration isolator strut in the vibration isolation system.
