摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery, which has improved lifetime and stability, and a method for preparing the cathode active material. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery contains a compound doped or coated with a fluorine phosphate and represented by formula 1: Li<SB POS="POST">a</SB>Ni<SB POS="POST">x</SB>Co<SB POS="POST">y</SB>M'<SB POS="POST">z</SB>Mn<SB POS="POST">(1-x-y-z)</SB>O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>.
