PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a corrosion resistant member provided with a dense coating layer having corrosion resistance so as to be usable in a water vapor oxidizing atmosphere or a sulfuric acid corrosive atmosphere, good in adhesion with a base material and furthermore, applicable even to parts hard to be subjected to execution such as a member of a large area, the inner face of a pipe or the like. SOLUTION: In this method, a coating layer 2 of low m.p. amorphous powder contg. B in addition to components corresponding a to the corrosion resistant alloy is formed on the surface of a metallic member, and a coating layer 3 of an inorganic material producing slug by heating at a temp. lower than the melting temp. of the amorphous powder is formed, is heated to a temp. equal to or below the m.p. of the metallic member 1 and equal to or above the m.p. of the amorphous powder and is melted while the coating layer 2 of the amorphous powder is protected by the molten slug layer of the inorganic material, thereby forming the objective dense corrosion resistant coating layer.
