PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for repairing a rotor system having a coupling, a coupling key groove, a shaft, a shaft key groove and a key. SOLUTION: A method for repairing a rotor system 100 includes a step of machining a shaft flank 160 at a portion adjacent a coupling of a shaft; a step of rounding off a coupling key groove and a shaft key groove; a step of adding a fretting resistant button to the key; a step of machining a key groove escape face at a shaft key groove 140, and a step of machining a coupling escape face at a portion adjacent to the shaft of a coupling 110. Furthermore, the method includes a step of machining a key; a step of arranging a dowel between the coupling and the shaft, and a step of shot-peening processing the coupling key groove and the shaft key groove.
