Innovation background The UNIVERSAL Brick clamp is designed to incorporate several of the current range of clamps on the market. It also takes into consideration new innovations and brick sizes in the construction industry that can't be covered by current clamps. In the past bricks were manufactured in only so many sizes and a range of clamps was designed to hold a bricklayers/masons profile pole to the brickwork. The clamp either had to reach across a 40mm profile and a full brick of approximately 230mm in length or a half brick 110mm depending on the layer of bricks he wished to clamp to. Now bricks are manufactured in several sizes and the current range of clamps will not fit all of them. Specifically, because some of the most common bricks used such as internal fast wall, have become longer and narrower. Individual clamps for every brick size is not practical for both cost and space so a sliding, reversible clamp that can be adjusted to reach from the regular to the extra-long bricks in one configuration and be reversed to bring the clamping distance down to be able to clamp on to the narrowest. |
