<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-performance positive electrode material for a solid oxide type fuel cell using an electrolyte of rare earth solid solution ceria. <P>SOLUTION: In the solid oxide type fuel cell using the electrolyte of the rare earth solid solution ceria, the positive electrode material contains SrRuO<SB>3</SB>which is less liable to chemical reaction with the electrolyte, highly electron-conductive and highly reactive with oxygen.
