The technology of the present invention pertains to a solid state image pickup element, an image pickup device, and an electronic apparatus that enable floating diffusion (FD) conversion efficiency to be switched for all pixels of a solid-state image pickup element. A photodiode carries out photoelectric conversion of incident light. A floating diffusion (FD) accumulates charges obtained by the photodiode. An FD 2, which is a second FD to which the capacitance of an additional capacitance unit MIM is added, adds capacitance to the FD. The additional capacitance unit MIM is formed from a first electrode comprising a wiring layer in which wiring that is electrically connected to the terminal of the FD and of the second FD is formed, and a second electrode comprising a metal light-blocking film that is disposed on a surface that is of a substrate on which is formed the photodiode and that is near a light-source of light, and is disposed closer to the substrate than the wiring layer and so as to be facing the wiring layer. By switching the FD and FD+FD2, it becomes possible to switch FD conversion efficiency. The technology of the present invention can be applied to a CMOS image sensor. |
