PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate the need for work to remove dissipated mud by a method wherein adhesion of mud, scraped down by a scraper, to a conventional protection plate and dissipation of mud adhered to the protection plate and cured in a large lump are prevented from occurring. SOLUTION: A mud receiving chute 3 for a belt conveyor is used in a mechanism to convey excavation waste dropped from an upper stage belt conveyor 1 to a lower stage belt conveyor 4. The mud receiving chute is provided with a vibrator to exert vibration and formed such that an upper end opening 3a having an area wide enough to surround a scraper 2 is situated opposite to and below a scraper 2 situated below an upper stage belt conveyor 1 and scraping down mud adhered to a conveyor belt (a lower conveyor belt 1a) and a lower end opening 3b is disposed opposite to and above the lower stage belt conveyor 4.
