PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an economic method for cleaning a washing machine drum reducing a load even on the environment and having excellent operation efficiency. SOLUTION: The method for cleaning the washing machine drum comprises changing the amount of a detergent composition used according to the degree of staining. Furthermore, the degree of staining can be judged with, e.g. the cleaning frequency of the washing machine drum. The amount of the detergent composition used is preferably changed in two stages.
