PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce dispersion of temperature of a heated object and to keep a concentration of volatile components in a furnace to be lower than a fixed concentration or less. SOLUTION: A pair of upper and lower supply passages 4a, 4b for hot air H, and a pair of upper and lower exhaust passages 5a, 5b for in-furnace air F are connected with a furnace body 1. The supply passages 4a, 4b and the exhaust passages 5a, 5b are alternately opened and closed by a damper 7 periodically and synchronously to switch the wind direction (air distributing direction) of hot air H introduced into the furnace body 1 upward or downward. The increase of concentration of volatile components in the furnace is prevented by discharging the in-furnace air F from the air heating furnace by a blower 6. Further a circulation passage 8 is formed to circulate a part Fd of the in-furnace air F discharged from the exhaust passages 5a, 5b to a supply side of the hot air H according to the necessity.
