PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a mold wherein degassing groove for venting gas very efficiently can be easily formed at a low cost, and also provide a mold obtained by this manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A mold forming body 2 and an adjacent mold forming body 3 are closed together by butting their respective mold joining parts into each other to internally form a molded product forming part 30. In addition, a degassing groove 6 communicating with the outside from the molded product forming part 30 is formed in a recessed shape on at least either of the closed fitting faces of the mold forming bodies 2, 3. In this manufacturing method, a masking process to treat by masking a part in which degassing grooves are not formed of a material for the mold forming body which becomes the body, and a process to form the degassing grooves by working only a non-masking part of the material for the masked mold forming body so that the part is recessed to form degassing grooves, are provided.
