An electric brake device that allows reduction of generation of an operating noise without impairing a function of a brake, is provided. The electric brake device includes a brake rotor, a brake pad, an electric motor (2), a linear motion mechanism, and a controller (9). Vehicle speed detector (44) configured to detect a vehicle speed, is provided, and the controller (9) includes: a motor angular velocity control section (40) configured to control an angular velocity of the electric motor (2); and angular-velocity-corresponding-to-vehicle-speed limiting section (41) configured to limit, in a no-load state where a clearance is between the brake pad and the brake rotor, the angular velocity by the motor angular velocity control section (40) such that the lower the vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed detector (44) is, the lower the angular velocity of the electric motor (2) in the no-load state is. |
