PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multifunctional clothing dryer which can be also employed as an air cleaner. SOLUTION: The clothing dryer comprises a drying chamber 3 which has an openable door 2 and an exhaust port 23 and contains clothing 5, a hot air generation mechanism (a blower 8, a heater 10) which has an inlet port 18 and generates hot air fed to the inside of the drying chamber 3, an ozone generation system (an air pump 11, an ozone generator 13) which generates ozone fed to the inside of the drying chamber 3, and a controller 14 for them, and the controller 14 has an air cleaning mode controlling so as to operate an air cleaning function which does not drive the heater 10 of the hot air generation mechanism and drives the blower 8 of the hot air generation mechanism and the ozone generation organization.
