An LCD is provided to prevent impurities from diffusing to a liquid crystal material injected between a first insulating substrate and a second insulating substrate by forming an organic-layer uneven structure on a common electrode of the second insulating substrate, and covering the organic-layer uneven structure with an impurity blocking layer. A pixel electrode is formed on a first insulating substrate. A second insulating substrate faces the first insulating substrate. A common electrode is formed on the second insulating substrate. An organic layer pattern is formed on the common electrode. An impurity blocking layer covers the organic layer pattern. A liquid crystal material is injected between the first insulating substrate and the second insulating substrate. The impurity blocking layer includes titanium oxide(TiO2).
