PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display device for stably and inexpensively generating electric power for a rising ramp waveform in the initialization period of a scanning pulse. SOLUTION: In the plasma display device using a plasma display panel constituted by arranging a front glass substrate where scanning electrodes, sustain electrodes, a dielectric layer, and a protection layer are formed and a back glass substrate where data electrodes, an insulator layer, partitions, and a fluorescent material layer are formed oppositely to each other and sealing circumferences to form a discharge space, a voltage for a rising ramp waveform is generated by superposing the output voltage of a DC-DC converter 601 on a source voltage for a sustain pulse and inputting the resulting voltage to an automatic constant voltage unit 602.
