PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a defect repair method for making a strong repaired part not broken even if a membrane is disposed in a hard operation state of being in continuous contact with sludge or contaminants like a dip-type membrane for sewage treatment among applications for water treatment is, and a defect repair apparatus. SOLUTION: The defect repair method in a flat membrane for water treatment includes a step of pressing a defect part to seal a defect hole by compression, with regard to the defect generated on the surface of the flat membrane manufactured by coating a material containing an organic polymer as a main component on the surface of a flat substrate.
