PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure pump capable of restraining foreign matter included in fuel from intruding into a suction valve housing.SOLUTION: A cylinder body 11 for storing a plunger 10 has a pressurizing chamber 110 in one side in the moving direction of a plunger 11. A fuel delivery part 50 delivers the fuel pressurized by the pressurizing chamber 110. The fuel is supplied from a fuel inlet to a fuel chamber 63 possessed by a pump case 60. A cylindrical suction valve housing 31 has a suction passage 311 for communicating the fuel chamber 63 with the pressurizing chamber 110. A suction valve 33 is seated on or left from a suction valve seat part 36 arranged in a seat member 32. A fuel filter 80 is arranged in an inside suction passage 311 of the suction valve housing 31, and collects foreign matter included in the fuel flowing between the fuel chamber 63 and the suction valve seat part 36.
