The system includes a transmitter and multiple receivers, configured for time-slot based data transmission from the transmitter to each receiver, and from each receiver to the transmitter via respective transmission channels that can be allocated to each one of the receivers. The system is configured so that information relating to the characteristics of at least one of the allocated transmission channels is detected, and the respective data transmission controlled accordingly. An independent claim is included for a method of operating radio transmission between a transmitter and multiple receivers.
