This scanning endoscope comprises: a light guiding unit that guides illumination light from a light source unit for projection on a subject; a ferrule that is provided along the light guiding unit; an actuator that drives the tip of the light guiding unit by vibrating the ferrule in order to sweep the illumination light guided by the light guiding unit over the subject; a cylindrical member that holds an optical member which emits the illumination light to be swept over the subject when the illumination light from the light guiding unit, the tip of which is driven by the actuator, enters the optical member, said cylindrical member having a space that contains the light guiding unit, ferrule, and actuator, and being provided along the light guiding unit; and a vibration control unit that secures the ferrule to the cylindrical member and absorbs the vibrations of the ferrule. |
