PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable detection of abnormalities in a solar cell module in which an abnormality has already occurred, and also to allow detection of reduced generation power in a solar cell module, as an abnormality.SOLUTION: An abnormality detection device 1 for solar cell modules comprises: a power detection unit 11 for detecting the power in a first solar cell module 2; an abnormality detection unit 12 to which the power detected by a power detection unit 11 in a second solar cell module 2 connected in series to the first solar cell module 2 and the power in the first solar cell module 2 are inputted so that the power in both modules are compared with each other, thereby detecting an abnormality in the first solar cell modules 2 when a result based on the comparison is outside an allowable range of predetermined conditions; and a notification unit 13 for notifying of the abnormality in the first solar cell module 2.
