PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery showing superior input and output characteristics, and cycle characteristics.SOLUTION: The above problem can be solved by a method for manufacturing a composite hardly graphitizable carbonaceous material for a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery negative electrode according to the present invention. The method comprises: (A) a solidification step for mixing molten pitch or tar with a fibrous or elongated rod-like conductive assistant, and solidifying the resultant mixture, thereby producing a carbon precursor in which the conductive assistant is included from inside the solidified pitch or tar to outside; (B) a step for pulverizing the carbonaceous precursor; (C) a step for infusibilizing the carbon precursor by oxidation; and (D) a baking step for regularly baking the infusibilized carbon precursor at 800-1600°C in a non-oxidizing gas atmosphere.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
