PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of noises in a flexible cable provided between an analog circuit board and a digital circuit board. SOLUTION: An optical system unit (image reader) 20 optically reads an original image from a unit LED 412a of a light source unit 41 incorporated in a casing 30, using a reflection light to be radiated to the original face of an original P1. In the unit 20, the casing 30 is provided with an analog circuit board 520 equipped with a CCD 521 for converting a reflection light condensed through a lens 512 into an electrical analog signal upon incoming of the reflection light; a digital circuit board 60 equipped with a circuit for converting the analog signal into a digital signal; a flexible cable 59 for electrically connecting the both provided between the circuit boards 520 and 60; and a contact preventing member 70 for preventing contact of the flexible cable 59 against other members.
