COMPOSITION FOR FOOD AND DRINK CONTAINING PHYTIC ACID AND/OR DEXTRIN FOR STABILIZATION OF S-ADENOSYLMETHIONINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for foods and drinks in which S-adenosylmethionine is stably retained for a long period of time, and a method for stabilizing the S-adenosylmethionine.

SOLUTION: This invention provides a composition for foods and drinks containing phytic acid and S-adenosylmethionine. The S-adenosylmethionine is stabilized by phytic acid in the composition. This invention also provides a composition for foods and drinks containing a combination of S-adenosylmethionine, phytic acid and dextrin. The combined use of phytic acid with dextrin exhibits a greater stabilization effect as compared to the use of phytic acid alone. The dextrin is preferably a γ-cyclic dextrin and more preferably a mixture of a cyclic dextrin and a non-cyclic dextrin.
