摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymerizable composition for an optical material, which is obtained by a preliminary polymerization reaction of sulfur, a compound having two episulfide groups in one molecule thereof, and a compound having two SH groups, and to improve productivity of the optical material obtained by polymerization/curing.SOLUTION: In a method of producing a composition for an optical material including sulfur (a), a compound (b) having two episulfide groups in one molecule thereof, a compound (c) having two SH groups and an amine compound (d) having a specific structure, by the preliminary polymerization reaction of the sulfur (a) and the compound (c) in the presence of the compound (b) while using the amine compound (d) as a preliminary polymerization catalyst, the polymerizable composition for the optical material, in which the viscosity increase rate in the preliminary polymerization reaction can be made low and the reaction temperature can be made around room temperature, and which has low viscosity and a low viscosity increase rate, can be obtained.
