<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus and a control method thereof capable of preventing a failure of image quality even if the imaging apparatus is going to photograph a scene other than a particular scene in a state that a particular scene photographing mode is selected. <P>SOLUTION: The control method discriminates whether or not the particular scene photographing mode is selected in a step S1. When the particular scene photographing mode is not selected as a result, the processing transits to a step S2, wherein ordinary control is carried out. On the other hand, when the particular scene photographing mode is selected, the processing shifts to a step S3, wherein an angle of the imaging apparatus is detected. When the detected angle is collated with a condition with respect to a preset angle in a step S4 and when the result of detection is dissident with the condition, the processing shifts to a step S5, wherein ordinary control is carried out. When the result of detection is coincident with the condition, the processing shifts to a step S6 wherein the ordinary control is carried out. When the result of detection is coincident with the condition, the processing shifts to a step S6, wherein a control range in an automatic exposure controller, an automatic focus controller, and an image quality parameter controller is revised via a control range selection switching section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
