Transmission device having a first end and a second end and a transmission assembly arranged therebetween for variable transmission of an input rotational movement at the first end into an output rotational movement at the second end, or vice versa, - the transmission assembly defining a rotational axis and comprising a first disc located at the side of the first end and a second disc located at the second end, -wherein the first and second discs are provided with first and second convex contact surfaces, respectively, which are concentric around the rotational axis and form bodies of revolution around the rotational axis, -wherein elongate rollers are arranged between the first and second convex contact surfaces, said rollers extending in their respective radial planes with respect to the rotational axis and being in engagement with the first and second convex con- tact surfaces for transmission of a rotational movement between the discs, -wherein the distance between the first and second convex contact surfaces in the direction of the rotational axis is adjustable with the rollers arranged to be tiltable in their respective radial planes of the rotational axis for following said adjustment, -wherein the first convex contact surfaces and second convex contact surfaces have surface normals having a directional component parallel to the rotational axis and directed towards the second end and the first end, respectively, and having a directional component directed radially outwards and inwards, respectively, -wherein the second convex contact surfaces are located radially outside the first convex contact surfaces. |
