METHOD FOR PREPARING SILICA/TITANIA LIGHT CATALYST

PURPOSE: A method for preparing a silica/titania light catalyst having heat-stability and high light-activity by using a sol-gel method is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of: (i) adding silicone alkoxide(Si(OR)4) to an aqueous solution, hydrochloric acid and alcohol to hydrolyze the alkoxide for 3-7 minutes and then adding titanium alkoxide thereto to hydrolyze the titanium alkoxide; (ii) after mixing the obtained hydrolysate of each alkoxide and condensing it for 30 hours, removing alcohol from it to obtain a silica/titania sol solution; (iii) drying the obtained silica/titania sol solution to obtain xerogel; and (iv) heat-treating the obtained silica/titania xerogel to obtain silica/titania particles.
