PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an internal combustion engine for a small planing boat, which is easy in piping such as suction-exhaust by leaving a side space of an internal combustion engine body, and smoothes a flow of intake air from a supercharger by reducing the piping. SOLUTION: The internal combustion engine 20 for the small planing boat is provided with a multicylinder internal combustion engine with the supercharger for driving a jet propelling pump 10 in the boat surrounded by a hull and a deck. The internal combustion engine for the small planing boat with the supercharger is constituted so that the supercharger 43 is arranged behind the internal combustion engine body 20A, and an intercooler 42 cooling the intake air pressurized by the supercharger 43, is arranged above the supercharger 43.
