PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the quantity of a routing table stored in a memory, while shortening the time reading the routing table to a trunk processing circuit. SOLUTION: A trunk connecting unit 10 for an onboard is interposed among buses 31 connecting ECUs 30 respectively and trunks a message. The trunk connecting unit 10 has a memory for arranging the values of IDs for the message, in the order of small to large values, obtaining difference IDs from the difference values of the values of the adjacent IDs and storing a first routing table T1 for specifying a relationship among the difference IDs reducing bit numbers from the IDs for the message and trunk-place buses 31 and a conversion circuit section 22 reading the first routing table T1 from the memory, when a starting and preparing a second routing table T2 that converts the difference IDs of the first routing table T1 into original ID values. The trunk connection unit 10 further has a trunk processing circuit section 21 that transmits the message received, while referring to the second routing table T2 to the specific trunk-place bus 31.
