PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for installing a heavy-weight machine, the method enabling expediting of time for installing a reactor vessel support structure without compromising required accuracy in installing a reactor vessel.SOLUTION: An installation method includes: a first step of making a primary shield wall 17 within a PCCV 10 to be SC structure and casting concrete for a primary shield wall portion 17a sharing with an RV support 11 in advance of other portion; a second step of lifting the RV supper to temporarily placing it on the primary shield wall portion; a third step of adjusting the level of the RV support using a strain prevention-cum-level adjusting reception member 22 disposed on the primary shield wall portion and then welding the strain prevention-cum-level adjusting reception member to the RV support; a fourth step of casting concrete in the internal spaces of the primary shield wall portion and RV support; and a fifth step of adjusting a degree of level of a support shoe 11d of the RV support and then lifting an RV 12 with a large crane 110 or the like to install the RV 12.
