PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method are provided to prevent the piston from being molten or abnormally expanded upon occurrence of abnormality of oil jet. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus comprises a valve housing(10-1) including a body(12) and a flange(11), wherein the body has an inlet(14) for guiding the oil flowing from the main gallery and an outlet(16) for discharging the oil to the oil jet, and the flange is connected to the body and has a hole(18) formed at the center of the flange and a hole(19) formed at the bottom of the flange; a plunger(20) including a body(22) having an oil passage, a connection rod(24) connected to the top of the body, and a contact rod(26) connected to the top of the connection rod; an oil check valve(10) including a spring for elastically supporting the plunge toward the inlet of the valve housing, wherein the spring extends/retracts by the oil pressure applied to the inlet; a signal detection unit including a loop coil(42) and a contact switch(44), wherein the signal detection unit detects whether the oil check valve operates in a normal way; and a crank shaft balance weight(50) equipped with a magnet(52) arranged in the vicinity of the signal detection unit.
